Where are the best places to look for online affiliate marketers?
Currently working for a company in Birmingham developing their sales strategy.
I’m considering routes to market for a fantastic software product that’s got some great clients already, but needs to find a larger-scale way of finding new customers.
It’s a software-as-a-service product which I think could work well for affiliate online marketing. But I’ve never used this approach myself before, does anyone have any tips for appointing affiliate marketers, any directories they can recommend, people they’ve used successfully before etc.?

oke,.
lets see,. you want to start affiliate marketing. let me tell you that this aint easy.
first of all i dont know what your software-as-a-service is,..in which catorgory does it belong?
keep in mind that you must give a % per sale to the site owner. and most of the good money making affiliate programs are full, unless your willing to give a good % . and you product must attract their users.
most affiliates are used in the online porn industry ,. with weight loss and manhood enlargers
i don’t know what your product is, but my gut-feeling tells me that you need a diffrent approach than affiliating

As an affiliate manager I can tell you that there are many ways to find affiliates.
First of all you must target your research to affiliates that deal with the products you are trying to promote.
Once you have targeted your niche you can do:
1. Web intelligence: You can use several tools as whois.com or aboutus.com to find the owner of the affiliate site
2. Massive Recruitment: You can go to different forums and promote your affiliate program. (READ the rules of each forums they might ban you if you don’t follow them)
To recruit affiliates you need to have an organized system that will track, aid’s, orders, click’s and all the stats that you will need to clarify the affiliates status.
If your company has an online store they surely have a tracking system, you should ask.
Good Luck

The question you are asking is “Where are the best places to look for Affiliate Marketers” ? Affiliate marketers are on Affiliate forums such as the Warrior Forum at http://www.warriorforum.com/.
Also, when looking for potential affiliates, you should try Twitter, Facebook or Youtube, this is where most internet marketers & affiliates have marketing programs being advertised ot attract new affiliates.
As an online merchant looking to use affiliate marketing networks, do you get to choose your channel?
I am researching online affiliate marketing. Say I am looking to sell something online. Let’s also say I want to leverage affiliate marketing networks to advertise my product. As the merchant, is it common to have the ability to choose which type of advertising channel you are marketed to or is it more like a shotgun blast across the internet?
Or is it the other way around… do the affiliates choose what is eventually advertised by their site?

You can promote your affiliate product to the niche market that you are targeting. But that is usually separate from an affiliate network such as Clickbank or Paydotcom. But when setting up your account, I believe you can specify a target audience.
Once you have your affiliate site set up and start promoting it, those that have an interest in the product or service will sign up. Both of the sites mentioned above let you search for product you may want to sell as an affiliate so that is another source.
Best of success,

In http://www.FlexOffeers.com, as a merchant yes you can determine who joins your program and ultimately represents you online and what type of advertising will be allowed.

As a merchant, you will always have things done by your terms. Say if you want only email marketing, affiliates doing only that will be paid, its understood.
Next depends on your tracking. If your tracking system is good enough to catch the defaulters, you will never have to pay a penny extra!
You can try our network http://www.vcommission.com
We have DirectTrack’s tracking system and we can work as you want us and our affiliates to!
