What can I do to get a Adsense blog onto my self-hosted wordpress blog?
I have tried for quite awhile, and have made little progress to get one freaking ad on my site. And I am now frustrated. I am trying to paste the Adsense code into a widget but it wont show up, I am out of backup plans people!

I’m not sure if I understand too well, but I’ll answer to the best of my ability.

So you have a WP blog and want to add adsense right?

1) You can place the adsense code directly into your post by going to the HTML view when creating a post and placing the ad code there.
2) Go to your widgets, drag “text” into your sidebar. Place your in the field, and save.
3) Sometimes it won’t show up asap, just give it some time and it should eventually show up.

Hope that helps.

You should be able to avoid hand editing the actual theme code.

Either by pasting code into the Text Widget which I understand handles HTML.

Or more likely, use a free Adsense plugin available for wordpress, that provides a form for you to enter your adsense account number into.

Here’s a link to the topics that won’t be approved, everything else is fair game. https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=48182

For some countries your blog has to be up for 6 months.

It’s easier to get approved if you sign up with a site like hubpages or blogger

Approval into the adsense program is not really dependent on what your niche is

The adsense program is looking for sites that already have useful and unique content on them

So made for adsense sites is not the way to go.

If you read the TOS of adsense there should be a few useful pointers there

It can also be done using plugins. (google for adsense plugins)

I’m fond of the Quick Adsense plugin. If you want to add the HTML directly, there are a few options, but it might be easier to add it as a Text/HTML widget, but really, a plugin is probably the best way to go.

Quick Adsense is my favorite plugins to add all kind of ads. I have tried many others but this is one the best in my opinion. But if you need to add your codes in your sidebar directly, you can go to appearance, editor and then sidebar depending on your theme, but be careful not to mess up the codes, copy the content of your sidebar if you are not sure.
